Moving On

January 22, 2013

keep-calm-and-moving-on-12… is truly the purpose of life.

But unfortunately we never see it that way. We get caught up in the daily dramas of life and tend to allow our challenges to overwhelm us and sometimes win over us.

Life is filled with challenges. Yours is to NOT give in to the challenges, yours is to

FACE them.

RISE ABOVE them.

GROW from them.

and make yourself BETTER because of them.

No one said life was going to be easy. If you wanted easy, you wouldn’t have chosen this life. You are here because you chose to evolve. So here is where the work begins.

Don’t spend you life hiding under rocks from those challenges. Those challenges represent your life lessons. They are there for a reason. They are there to test your reserve and your fortitude. They are there to bring up your darkest fears and insecurities. They are there to force you to look into the mirror and see who you really are. You really learn who you are once you have overcome a huge obstacle in your life. We say it is “character building.”

Sometimes your challenges can drop you to your knees but again, yours is not to lie down and sulk, yours is to get right back up and keep walking. Moving on is the name of the game. That is the only way you can transform the lesson. Do you want to live your life like a coward hiding under a rock or do you want to meet those challenges face-on screaming “Give me your best shot!”. Who you are is always greater than your lessons. Always. Who you are will always persevere against adversity and all challenges but you must believe in yourself for it to be so.

Don’t decide to roll over and feign death – you cannot hide from your challenges. You can buy yourself time – maybe a year or two – but that challenge will always come back with a vengence and when it does the lesson always gets harder.

Stand up to your challenges and transform them. Move on with your life. Make your life better because of what you have gone through. The rest of your life awaits and it is filled with many rich rewards for all your bravery.

When You Walk With Your Head Down

… you walk into walls. It’s common sense. When you’re not looking where you’re going, you’re most likely going to end up somewhere you don’t want to be. Most of us sleepwalk our way through our lives — running the mouse wheel of life. We are so busy trying to make a living that we […]

It’s Not About Making The Right Choice

… it’s about accepting the choice you’ve already made. Our life’s path is made up of choices and there are no mistakes when it comes to making choices, because there are no right or wrong choices, there are only different choices. Don’t get caught up in the choice you’ve made – make it and move on. […]

Looking Back to the Past

… is only helpful to the extent it allows you to move forward into your future.  If it doesn’t, it keeps you back. Your life is only ever in front of you, never behind you. The past can be an informative tool if we don’t get trapped in it. If you want to uncover the […]

A Mid-life Crisis

… requires a mid-course correction. A mid-life crisis can happen at any age, but the wisdom here is that the secret to healing it, is in the way we define it. Life naturally has its ups and downs, and life is constantly asking you to define who you are in relationship to it. You’re never […]

When You’re in the Flow

… everything moves with you. And when you are not, nothing works. When you are in the flow of your life – flowing downstream — everything flows along side you. When you are out of that flow – pushing upstream — things are much more difficult. How do you know the difference? Ask yourself how […]
