Crossing Bridges

Oresund-Bridge-bridges-1134293_1024_768… will always take you to the other side.

Whatever that side may be.

Bridges are metaphors for the transitions in our lives. Bridges take us from one place to another and they usually bridge our past with our future. But because they are not our past and they are not yet our future, they represent that unknown in-between stage that can make many people uneasy. We don’t like uncertainty. We like knowing where we will be at every step. Life isn’t like that. Life requires you get on that transitional bridge and walk away from your past (old job, old lover, etc..) and set out on a journey towards the future.

Sometimes the bridges are long ahead of you and you cannot see your destination. That does NOT mean that is isn’t there.

Sometimes you have to walk in the dark and it might be hard to find your way, but there is always a handrail to guide you.

On a bridge you do not have to think about where you are going. You just have to keep going. The path is set for you. You will get to where you need to be when it is time.

Just like on a bridge, your path in life is set for you. The bridge you are on has to take you to your destination (your future). It can be no other way. Trust the many bridges in your life. These transitional spaces are meant for you to grow and enjoy the scenery while on your walk towards the future.

You do not have to have all the answers in life. You just have to keep walking. As long as you are on your bridge, you are guaranteed to get off at your destination.

So how do you know if you are on your bridge? Staying stuck in the past will guarantee that you never get to that bridge and trying to rush ahead and take that speed boat across those waters will jeopardize your journey. SLOW DOWN. Take a walk. Even though you may not know where you are going, if you keep walking, you will learn so much about yourself in the process and you will be delivered precisely to the exact place, at the exact time you needed to be there. Life is your journey, keep moving forward and cross that bridge into the rest of your life.

Bridges are most certainly used as metaphors for life. In extremely stressful times as these to come upon a bridge is in itself a gift.
The key is to get out and put one foot In front of the other so one can see a bridge within reach.
    Travel well my fellow travelers.

When You Walk With Your Head Down

… you walk into walls. It’s common sense. When you’re not looking where you’re going, you’re most likely going to end up somewhere you don’t want to be. Most of us sleepwalk our way through our lives — running the mouse wheel of life. We are so busy trying to make a living that we […]

It’s Not About Making The Right Choice

… it’s about accepting the choice you’ve already made. Our life’s path is made up of choices and there are no mistakes when it comes to making choices, because there are no right or wrong choices, there are only different choices. Don’t get caught up in the choice you’ve made – make it and move on. […]

Looking Back to the Past

… is only helpful to the extent it allows you to move forward into your future.  If it doesn’t, it keeps you back. Your life is only ever in front of you, never behind you. The past can be an informative tool if we don’t get trapped in it. If you want to uncover the […]

A Mid-life Crisis

… requires a mid-course correction. A mid-life crisis can happen at any age, but the wisdom here is that the secret to healing it, is in the way we define it. Life naturally has its ups and downs, and life is constantly asking you to define who you are in relationship to it. You’re never […]

When You’re in the Flow

… everything moves with you. And when you are not, nothing works. When you are in the flow of your life – flowing downstream — everything flows along side you. When you are out of that flow – pushing upstream — things are much more difficult. How do you know the difference? Ask yourself how […]
